Contract time-bar calculator
Pick your form of contract and the event, enter the date, and see every notice deadline with the days left. Free, in your browser; nothing is stored or sent.
For information only. Periods are those of the standard forms as published; your contract and its particular conditions decide, and a deadline that falls on a weekend or holiday is not moved here. Not legal advice.
Why the dates matter
Under FIDIC 2017 a contractor who does not give a Notice of Claim within 28 days of becoming aware of the event loses the claim (Sub-Clause 20.2.1), and the fully detailed claim follows within 84 days (20.2.4). NEC4 bars a compensation event not notified within 8 weeks (61.3). Missing a date by one day can cost the entitlement, so the dates are worth counting from the first day.
