Variation orders and claims register

Keep every instruction, variation order (change order), claim and extension of time in one register, priced, dated and linked to its evidence.

From instruction to approved variation

  • Instructions from the Engineer or the owner, answered by the contractor as no cost, variation or disputed.
  • Variations priced by item, submitted by the contractor, reviewed by the consultant and approved by the owner, every step dated and named.
  • The revised contract sum is always the original sum plus approved variations.
  • Watch on variations as a share of the contract sum.

Questions

What is the difference between a variation and a claim?
A variation is a change instructed under the contract and valued under it. A claim is the contractor's (or the employer's) request for time or money for an event, made by notice within the contract's period. Quanto keeps both, linked where a claim follows an instruction.
Which forms of contract are covered?
FIDIC 2017 and 1999, NEC4 ECC, JCT 2024 and VOB/B 2016, each with its own periods. Other contracts start from editable values.
Do the consultant and owner need a paid account?
No. Parties you invite join free.
