Interim payment applications and certificates
From progress on each BOQ line to the Engineer's certificate: retention, advance recovery and materials on site worked out on every interim payment certificate.
The payment application builds itself
- Progress entered by BOQ line for each valuation period; the payment application builds itself from it.
- The Engineer certifies line by line, with reasons for any amount held; the owner approves where the contract requires it.
- Retention, advance recovery, materials on site, amounts held for open NCRs, unapproved variations on account, and credits.
- Owner payments recorded and confirmed; split by funder where a project has more than one.
- Printable application and certificate papers.

How an interim payment certificate is worked out
The same steps the Excel template follows, and that Quanto does for you on every certificate.
- Work done to date: the value of each BOQ line × its percentage complete, plus approved variations.
- Materials on site, where the contract allows payment for them.
- Less retention at the contract percentage, up to its limit.
- Less advance payment recovery at the contract rate.
- Less the amounts already certified in previous certificates.
- Add VAT where it applies. The result is the amount due on this certificate.
Percentages and limits come from your contract; the template uses example values you replace.
